Briefly About Design

Since one of my previous posts about design elements in art appeared pretty popular, I decided to prepare another one. This time, I am presenting the basic principles of design, in general. Since, design is something tightly associated with visualization, I decided to experiment with visual media. Hopefully, you will enjoy the infographics that I have prepared.

Knowing the basic principles can help anyone to design better pieces. People tend to think of design as something that requires specific vision and talent, whereas in reality it’s like a language-everyone can communicate by practicing basic grammar and vocabulary. Similarly, everyone can gain visual literacy by understanding simple concepts and observing things more carefully. However, if you want to go further, don’t be afraid to experiment. Know the rules first, than feel free to break them intelligently. That is how creativity works. No magic required.
